Close Target Reconnaissance Course – CTRc

Close Target Reconnaissance Course – CTRc – Duration: 5 Days.

Close Target Reconnaissance Course – CTRc

Course Aim & Concept:

The aim of the CTR course is to instruct, demonstrate and practise the full aspects of conducting a CTR, be this covertly traversing around a target area in the first phase of the Reconnaissance Cycle. Look to identify weak points and avenues of approach, or in the search of a location in which to site an observation post to stage further missions.

Delegates will be taught how to operate in small teams conducting a number of covert tactics on the target’s boundary gathering imagery and data, understand the importance of operational constraints and not becoming channelled into penetrating too soon and creating a compromise.

The reconnaissance cycle is a slow delicate one, without the find and fix, the strike cannot take place.

This is the first phase of the reconnaissance cycle

Learning Out Comes:

To ensure that delegates leave with a full tactical understanding of ‘best practise’ when tasked with a CTR, having the knowledge to collect and gather data safely, reducing the risk of compromise while deployed as a small team.
